Pisolith conglomerate
Lithogenous and biogenous sedimentary rock.
this conglomerate bed comes from the Eocene Indian Meadows Formation near Dubois, Wyoming. Clasts in the sandstone consist of fragments of Late Paleozoic age alluvial gravel. Many of the class are covered with a pisolith coating of fossil freshwater algae. Goniobasis snails imbedded in the conglomerate also display pisolith overgrowths. |
